Charities we are raising money for in 2017 (2018 calendar)
The Lancaster Community Music Trust
The Lancaster Community Music Trust is a voluntary led organisation providing opportunities for music making and tuition at the Lancaster Community Music Centre (LCMC). LCMC is open on 32 Saturdays per year, during school terms, from 9:00am until 1:00pm, at the New Building and the Music Block, Lancaster Royal Grammar School, East Road, Lancaster, LA1 3EF. The LCMC hosts music groups and instrument tuition. People of all ages and abilities are welcomed!
The Lancaster Community Music Trust is currently fundraising for an Outreach Worker to promote music making in the Lancaster District and promote the services offered by the Music Centre. This would take place in schools and other community groups.
The sum of money the Lancaster Community Music Trust (LCMT) are aiming to raise is £1760.92.
Money raised will pay for resources - including Boomwhackers, chimebars, recorders and books - for an Outreach Worker. Community groups and schools could receive up to 3 workshops in a term – with music-making that would not otherwise be available to them. Everyone should be given the opportunity to take part in collaborative community based music making. Music-making promotes creativity and social cohesion.
